Many artists have a remarkable gift to inspire modern people on love and longing, tragedy and triumph, spiritual darkness and spiritual light. Religion and politics, with their many contemporaries and leaders, provide superb resources for artists who aim to inspire the masses with their works. I am the artist, however, who would rather examine the preposterousness within history for the same reasons.

My subject matter details the unknown if not entirely forgotten troublemakers of yore. I exalt their perceived misdeeds and obvious instability, and give their stories more than a line in a history book or blog—rather, a full blown showcase intended for fame.

Light and dark, in both line weight and mood, is intended to mirror the interplay between sobering facts and the numbness–the weightlessness–of moving through trauma and shock.  I intend to honor both the almighty coping mechanism and the bravery of the human implementing it, with every brush stroke, from start to finish.

Therefore my search–my witch hunt–is of the spiritual and for the divine.  I suspect there are yet relevant codes to salvation waiting to be cracked, and an entire host of hysterical, heavenly bodies eager to help us if given the vehicle and the voice they did not have while here on Earth. So with my pen, I endeavor to bring you the wisdom and inspiration of every collapsing, silenced angel on the record.

May their hindsight

be our foresight.
